We needn't have booked, for a friday night it was very quiet, just two table (inc our own) a total of 4 diners. What a shame, the food here is impressive, good ingredients, sensitively handled by an experienced caring chef, just a little low on ambience. They need more customers. Little appetizers while you were waiting were a good taste of things to come. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the terrine and pate flavoursome. Main courses of venison and lamb also went down well. My only complaint was the desserts didnt inspire me, but thats just my taste, I still managed to eat one. With 3 courses, beers, bottle of wine, coffees and one single malt the bill was just over £100. For a special occasion dinner this place has to be on the list. Excellent service, the maitre d worked with Gordon Ramsey, hes well trained. |
